Levan Lomjaria
director
Having studied at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgian State University in Tbilisi, Levan Lomjaria enrolled in the 16mm filmmaking programme of the New York Film academy in London. He completed his Master of Arts degree under the mentorship of renowned Hungarian film director Bela Tarr at the Sarajevo Film Academy / film.factory programme. Since 2015, he has been working as a film director and has produced several short films, independent, no-budget experimental films, documentaries and visual installations, which were screened at various international film festivals. 2015 to 2023 he worked as the Head of International/Film Export at the Georgian National Film Center, dealing with the promotion/sales and the festival representation of the latest Georgian film titles. Lomjaria is currently based in New York and works on his feature film projects “No Place Like Home” and “Transmision”.
